Default Fubar III upgrade too?

I'm currently running Laptop > Fubar III > HD650/Creative I-Trigue 3330. and I'm looking to upgrade the Fubar and speakers. Anybody have any recommendations for a new USB DAC to drive my headphones? I'm looking for something in the $350 price range. The same goes for a small set of bookshelf speakers.

I am not sure that by spending $350 you will get something better than what you already have. Different, perhaps but not necessarily better.

To truly get up in quality you may need to spend more like $600. BTW, if you buy used you could indeed do much better at lower prices.

I'm not adverse to buying used at all, I really can't remember the last time i bought something new. Well, upgrading from my Creative speakers I'm going to need an amp too. I've been doing some reading and the Glow Amp One seems to fit the bill for me in one little, quite pretty package. However, I've read, maybe even from you, that the DAC is lacking slightly.
