Default DAC choices, oh the choices -- need advice

im looking to buy a DAC to throw between my x-fi platinum and my rotel rsx-972 receiver. the benchmark dac1 and stello da220 both seem like great choices, but today i came across a mark levinson no. 30.5 dac, used, that falls in my price range. does anyone have comments on the no. 30.5 dac? i can barely find any info on it but it still intrigues me. or rather, anyone have any recommendations regarding purchasing a different DAC altogether? im trying to not go much higher than $1k usd.

There is a Stello DA220 (mk I mind you) on audiogon for $900 obo. I'm guessing you could get the seller to come down as it's been up for a while. grandenigma1 was selling his DA100 for $700 not too long ago, and that might still be available. Both good choices.
