Default Can you store DVD-Audio or SACD on a computer?

Is this possible? I would really like to store these types of audio on my hardrive. Any help would be appreciated.

No one has cracked their copy protection yet but DVD-A is probably not too far off. Then I can make FLAC files out of the 24-bit 96khz tracks.

is it possible to download dvd-a samples or 192/24 sound files just so i can test it out and see how it sounds? There was a sample/demo thing that came with my audigy 2 value but it sounded like a basic midi with too much treble...

Are you storing this digitally or just analog?

I did some googling to find some 96khz+ samples last week, and found this

Samples are only mono though and they're quite big.

here is a sample SACD track converted to 24bit/88.2kHz PCM, flacced.. it's a 20M download and about one minute in duration.. the source disc was a demonstration of a new recording technique, not a commercial title so I hope it's ok to use it.. I'd prefer if any of you can mirror it on your site, I have some bandwidth and data limit restrictions in action..

I'd be curious how you digitally capture a SACD Glassman.... do you record via the analog out of a SACD player into a sound card and store it as flac24? I could see one way of recording SACD or DVD-A digitally is streaming the i2s signal off each channel of the player or something like that.

the data are taken from a standalone player's bus as you suggested, but not from i2s line but rather the dsd lines.. the conversion is done on a computer..

Thats interesting that you use DSD line instead of I2s, what audio interface supports direct DSD? I can think of a couple of devices, such as tascams DV-RA1000, but that is rather expensive (over $1000).

a custom made device.. we're working on a commercial product that will enable universal players output SACDs and DVD-A digitally in full resolution, something that lots of high-end external DAC owners are waiting for..

So the SACD sample isn't digitally perfect. We're hearing a conversion.

DVD-A to 24-bit wav files is what I want to see. Legally of course. :-P

I can give you digitally perfect copy of that SACD track in DSDIFF format, but you won't be able to listen to it anyway.. you can only play PCM on computer.. I'm sorry but I don't have any DVD-A samples with me and I don't think I can access any disc, that wouldn't be copyright protected, sorry..
