some words of advice: lock your door anytime you leave the room, even if its just to go to the bathroom at 5am. A few months ago i left my door unlocked and came walkin back from the bath room to see a kid run out of my room with my phone, ipod and portable amp, and my wallet. I eventually got it back when i called my own phone and he picked up, but after this experience, my door stayed locked at all times
Got me through college and still sounds way better than it should. USB dac, doubles as portable amp. Use with any computer handy. Sick.

You can approximately replicate the sound of my stereo system by listening to your stereo system while wearing shooting muffs full of BBs and eating cheerios while stomping on a Speak-and-Spell.
I suggest buying the most crappiest, squeaking by gear. That way you won't kill yourself if something gets stolen. You never know man, college kids are normally broke, and expensive gear can be sold for fast cash.
