This is all using the hacked A4 drivers, right?

Can you try udial through the analog out without the "bit perfect" checked and see if you get audible artifacts?

Yes of course that's what I meant that without it enabled also analog sound quality is poorer and udial.ape gives artifacts, too.

I haven't even gotten any other driver to work at all. The driver cd which came with the card was broken so I haven't tryed even with those.

Damn now I couldn't get the udial play clear with analog out again with Audigy..digital works ok like before.. Well I'm so tired that I will stop the tuning now as everything works fine. Btw the av-710 plays the udial only clear using analog out when set to 44100 (I don't like resampling and Wolfsson dac works with asio without resampling, too, at least with newest drivers, haven't tryed others) when the volume is ~50% of the maximum. After that big artifact start coming, and the test signals become poorer and of course the music, too. But my headphones have sensitivity of 106dB/mW and impedance of 40 ohm so I get very much sound with only 50% of max (rearspeakers volume is set in the rear sr ch panel ~50% and I can use the master volume all the way up from 0 to 100% in the 2ch panel with good quality; spdif works too, I don't have to change panel).

Extremely good sound with av-710 analog out, can't hear much difference vs optical out with pcm + amp.

Just out of curiosty, what does the audigy2 value sound like in comparison to an av710 in terms of music quality?

Well the line out is a bit better in Audigy I think; meaning it has more power to run my headphones, the lows are better and sound is more dynamic but the highs are much better and cleaner with av710 (works 44k and Audigy 2 I guess does not, also superior dac); and I can't run the av710 with 100% and 100% with analog out like I told; more than 50% and 100% makes the udial.ape and the highs worse when I use 44k with Wolfsson dac (it works also unresampled with asio which is great). But I mostly use pcm signal + amp and both sound very good as both apparently give bit perfect sound, haven't done a big comparison, though, I've listened 95% of the music with av710 and after these days the percentage will be 100.00% .. I also bought the cMoy headphone amp today, going to use it with both a2 value with games and av710 with music when the amp is reserved. BUT perhaps the sound may be better using headphones with cMoy + line out of av710 than with my Sony str-db790, then I use the pcm + amp only when listening the music from the Amphion speakers.

The apparent distortion with udial and high volume with av-710 may be happening because of too heavy load on the dac if the headphones are connected to the card without an amp.

You were right . Now I can use 100% / 100% (running always 95/95, though) without bad high signals nor bad udial.ape when using headphone amp.
