I thought the W2002s sounded great with the B-52 (warm and punchy with amazingly quick and full bass), in fact they sounded a measure better than my balanced D2000s but the clear winner was the balanced K701s out of the three.
I wish I could hear the balanced 701s, Senn 600s 650s and UE9s in a single listening session.

His rig probably maximizes the potential of the K340s, right down to matching wood. It's easilly one of my favorite rigs I've ever tried, right beside RS1s+B52. Although it would readily benefit from a better DAC.

Edit: That's 'The Bumbacat' to you by the way, though we do call him Bumby for short.

What is a Bumbacat? Like a fat Thundercat? Like Snarf?
He's the one wearing the headphones in my avatar... it's a play on Jamaican slang.

Which amps did you listen to the W2002 with? Does the B-52 work with them?
I listened mostly with the B52 and it was the best sounding combination at the meet. When I compared the B52 and Yammy, I believe I used the RS-1's, though I think my impressions should apply for the W2002's with those amps.
I forgot to mention that I didn't think that the B52 was the best synergistic match for the K340's. I can't remember the specifics, though. There's always too much to listen to and too much to remember at meets.
Ooh. And another impression. The HD580's from the balanced outputs of the B52 sounded boring, like they were the most generic sounding headphone that could possibly be created.
Ugh, I just realized I had the Cayin's impedance set to 121-300 ohms at the meet. I was so concerned with people running it in ultralinear vs. triode mode that I forgot about the big impedance dial with four positions on it. If you listened to it and thought it sounded like stink, perhaps there is an explanation.
