Golden Ears : I was running a wireless slim server at the meet, I had my own squeezebox 3 wired to it by ethernet, but was also acting as a server (via Wi-Fi) for another squeezebox in the center table.
Anyone (mac or PC or Linux) can use softsqueeze to pull music off the server wirelessly (I'm pretty sure theres a java client - I'd have to check if it's "bit-perfect" or not).
In theory it should be able to provide as good a signal as your pc can output. I think it can also be used to just download songs from the catalogue.
I'm not sure how well my wife's 3 yr old Dell laptop would scale up to a whole room full of people streaming flacs, but it worked just fine for a us at the meet.
Next time maybe I should advertise the fact a little better Sorry, not much Jazz or Classical on it though, a little, but nothing much, I'm a rock & blues fan first and foremost.

I had a laptop rig w/ a diy usb dac, amarok, and 80 gigs of music ready to set up, but there simply wasn't enough table space. I didn't bother to bring it in because there wasn't enough room for the 'stat rig let alone the 'stat rig + the laptop.
The annoying irony was that i was 40 minutes late because i had to do some last minute prep on the laptop rig. If I'd come sooner and just let it take up space while i got it up and running it would have worked out ok. For me anyway.
I probably should have politely asked mikhail if he would consider packing up some of the unfinished and redundant merchandise he had on the table against the back wall.

AudioCubes2 declined to cancel my order, then lied to me and told me it had already shipped a full business day before the date on the shipping label.
Second round of pics to finish them off (28 total):
Luminette's GameBoy Advance had some sonic issues which we amplified by first the Singlepower Square Wave and next by a PPX3 SLAM, followed by the Ultrasone Edition 9...
I loaned mikhail some hex wrenches and he did fix the ES-1 attenuator alignment during the meet.
We had wifi internet there, and I did share my dottunes.net account with someone who asked about my library, so my home sever was streaming my library through my DSL. I also had a duplicate of my library with me and iTunes sharing turned on, but we weren't on the same local router or adhoc to access it on other computers.
I did have all my portables with me, and was surprised that 7-8 peeps only cared about hearing the Predator and not the others, with only 2-3 wanting to hear all the others. The TTVJ portable millett hybrid also seemed to be a big hit with everyone but Luminette (who sold it to me).
I'm curious to know what others thought about my rig, with Lambda Signature or HE60 on the GES, or SR-5NB and SR-Lambda on the SRM-1, or Edition 9 and D2000 on the Travagans Red, etc. I wish I'd brought the Woo WA6 or 336i but space and outlets would have been an issue. Also, what did people think about the Single Power Square Wave balanced amp with my HD600?
Who else compared my almost 2000 hour Predator with the 200 and 700 hour ones?

I throughly enjoyed participating in this get together. As a newbie to the Head-Fi community I was impressed with the folks at this meet. Everybody was willing to take time to answer my question, share their equipment and share their experience. I mostly listened to equipment that fit into my budget but I did listen to the SinglePower electrostatic system....WOW. I need to start saving! I'd like to thank the gentleman that sat to the left and behind HeadphoneAddict (I apologize for forgetting your name). After demonstrating DIY Milliet amp and pointing me to the the DIY forum I ordered the new Milliet Max PCB this weekend. Also thanks for helping troubleshoot my Fubar III. One more thanks to Luminette for putting up with me sitting next to him and for turning me on to some new music.
