I know I wouldn't be able to sleep at night running a "facility" like this.

I know what you mean, coming from a background with many years in the manufacturing and production of metals, plastics and electronics this is not a pretty sight, but a pretty scary one !
Thanks for the nice photos, but it confirms my suspicions of how Grado's plant and operation is. Even for a small manufacturer, Grado needs a lot of industrial or methods engineering, it is no wonder we get nicks and dents on the wooden and aluminium cups, they are all thrown into a box in bulk
The trays containing the drivers looks like they were purchased from an outside source mainly China and the operator is merely cleaning it off before soldering. I need to see the soldering joints before I can detemine if they are soldered properly.
Now I have reservations on spending and upgrading for a more higher end model !

Doesn't Moon Audio get their orders (re)cabled at the Grado factory? I don't see it on their website but I remember reading it somewhere. Can anyone confirm or defirm?

Wow, I lived out on Long Island until 3 years ago and never knew about Grado. Woulda been cool to check out the factory. No matter how they're made, my MS1s sound absolutely amazing for the price. The pics kinda remind me of my dad's old watch factory here in Hong Kong.

It's interesting to see all the women working in the facility considering that we all know the unfortunate male dominated status of headphones.
