Sure did, and they sounded very good.
The wooden cups do come in different shades from the manufacturer, and are paired by color to make a matching set.
Kramer5150- That machine inserts those metal rods into the black piece that is being shown. Sorry, the proper part names escape me at the moment.

Thank you for the pictures.
I missed out on the tour given by mr. Grado during the last meet in his shop.

Wow. I didn't even notice the tower speakers had headphone drivers in them until I read this.
I wonder if that would actually sound good? My mind is having a hard time imagining that it does.

That's what I was thinking. Move the RS-1 drivers away from the ear a little and they become thin and nasty sound.

Funny thing is that is has been a while since I last listened to my RS-1. So here I am happy listening to them via the new "Xin Reference" and KABOON! I see this thread. Thanks for the pics.

There are 32 drivers per side on the speakers, so 64 total with two subs handling the low-end.
I listened to them for a good amount of time and was very impressed. I guess they are something you just have to hear in person. John wouldn't have put them in his listening room if they didn't sound good, he would have been the first one to throw them out.
If I remember correctly, only six pairs were made and one set has been sold.
And to everyone thanking me for putting the pictures up, I'm just glad you guys enjoyed them. I got to do a tour of TC Sounds earlier this week and those pics should be up in a few days. We did a very cool tour of JL Audio that is up on the site as well.

Thanks for the photos. Although I've been at Grado Labs before, looks like things have changed a bit.

My advice to you:
- Use your own ears as everybody's hearing and preferences are different.
- Try to audition as much equipment as possible to find your sound.
- Buy used to save money.
