Well the event is over...
here it my damage i am walking out with...
I ordered a custom set of Freq's for my Jacuzzi with my bars logo on them.
I put down on a Fully modded Woo Audio GES amp
I placed a order for the 1.2b electrostat headphones
I also traded A well loved peice of gear for a HE60/HEV70 setup.
I am convinced i will go after a used Meridian 808 within this year.
DAMN CANJAM!!!!!! My Wallet is so burned..i love it!
I finally heard the HE90!!!!!!! omg!!!!
i listened to them on Justins aria amp in the main meet room so i really could not pick out the low bass tones but the soundstage on them is seriously F***king incredible. no dynamic could ever come miles close to it. after i listened to them i knew the electro way is the road i am going down now.
I have more listening impressions but for now thats all cause i want to sneek out of here and take the Z4 for another drive. last night her and i went out for a few hours up the coast.....ohhhhhh the romance.

oh yeah did we forget to mention the HD676 is out?
no nothing from Senn this year, something like that would most likely be a CES type of release. atleast that would be my idea.....

good job.
so the 808 trounces the G08?

Easily...
I compared them head to head last year at headfest San Jose with gear i know well in the line. listened to the g08 to make sure it was what i am used to then the 808 then after i listened to the g08 again. the $8k plus over the G08 is well in for the sound. the G08 is a great player ESP at the cost you can pick one up for now but the 808 is another level all together. the G08 like the finally Four in Basketball and the 808 is the NBA. of course this only matters if you like the Meridian Sound, some people don't.
You hear the main difference in how the vocals seem closer to you on the 808 but you can easily pick out what is directly in back of them. the G08 has great depth in its sound stage but the 808 simply seperates it all further without loosing anything in between.
I think its a great thing that Meridian came out with the .2 stuff cause now you can get the 808 or g08 used for a bit less.

That is fine if you're buying not if you're selling to upgrade.
With a .2 series, it would have been nice to have an upgrade path.

Okie dokie, here are a handful of impressions. I have many more rigs to cover but I'm tired and fading fast.
Some Moth DAC > EC Balancing Act > apuresound recabled HD600 (Eddie Current/Craig) - The first rig I listened to at my first meet, way early in the morning when almost no one was in the room. It really did sound beautiful, doing all the things that tubes do well. The HD600's bass was so full. I actually checked twice to make sure they weren't HD650s.
Exemplar Denon 2900 > Heed Obelisk > K1000 (boomana/Vicki) - My first time with the K1000. Vicki had a gigantic power amp for them (forgot what kind), but there was a hum originating from her preamp (Extreme) that was exacerbated by further connection to the power amp that made it way to loud. So instead we just went straight to the Obelisk which is an integrated. I see why people like the K1000, its very engaging and easy to tailor the sound to your tastes by turning the speakers in and out. Great bass, but it didn't go to the lowest of the lows. And there is that AKG midrange people are always talking about! The highs were a bit on the bright side for me, but by no means unbearable.
Apogee Duet > Toole Audio Balanced Mosfet Amp > HHF-1 (grawk/Dan) - I listened to this one a few times over the weekend, and I really liked it. Definitely an easy to listen to rig, one that really does nothing wrong, but it doesn't do anything that makes you reach out and say "woah", but thats fine really. Later I listened to the Pico pushing an HD650. Completely different setup then Dans so its hard to compare the Duet to the Pico, but if you put a gun to my head I'd say the Pico, mainly because its enclosure is sexier and to support Justin.
Cyrus CDP > Corda Move > ESW9 (nightwoundstime/Matt) - The ESW9 is a great little phone. I was very surprised at the thumping bass. I was expecting it to be more anemic like the w5000, but it is very different. Definitely a rocking can, great for portable or home use if you're willing to lay out the cash. Having said that I don't have much experience with other portable type cans of this nature. They aren't really my thing so take what I say with a grain of salt.
Grado Sonata Reference > Massive Gorgeous Denon DD Turntable > CI Audio Phono > MPX3 (three 6SN7s) > HD650 (nightwoundstime/Matt) - Yeeeeaaahhh, vinyl! Was lucky enough to sit with Matt and listen to the 45RPM of "In Rainbows". I love vinyl, and this rig sounded great. Of course, if it were me I'd throw a DL-103, cinemag sut, and tubed phono stage up in the mix. I'm much more sensitive to different components in a vinyl rig then in differences between digital rigs, but I guess thats part of the joy of vinyl is the very high level of control the listener has over his or her source.

A huge thanks to the Florida crew for welcoming us with open arms. And thanks, too, to the vendors who made the trip and showed off all their great offerings, and who also contributed such great gear to the door prizes. I think HeadFi should be flattered that our community attracts such attention from the participating vendors.
I didn't listen much, mainly just ran my mouth when it wasn't filled with beer or the stuff Tyll tried to poison me with, but I'll post a few impressions later. Most importantly, it was great to just hang out with a bunch of really fun, nice people.

GrAwk! Yes, I know, and there is a long story involving big bottommed girls, acute lack of sleep, and inattention that resulted in the mislabeling of your quite fetching turn in the tub. Long story short, someone else had been logged on to my computer, and my initial attempt at posting the evidence photos was under that person's name. Also present was much of that persons's original text, some of which was the sentence above your image. All has been put right now, however
ps: tell Juan he should have been here ....

CanJam was great!! I honestly had more fun then I thought possible.
I also fell in love with R10s. The fact that my car is probably worth around the same amount, I really think I can live without the car.
It was very nice meeting alot of you I can't wait to see you all again sometime soon! There is no doubt I will be back.

Well a long day of travel is over and I'm back in NH. Had a great weekend and I'll post pictures and impressions tomorrow night. For now I want to extend a huge thanks to Team CanJam who pulled off a fantastic event that will be hard to top.
Time to get some sleep!
