I listened to the Head-Direct amp at CanJam and it sounded pretty good to me. It was hooked up to a pair of Senn 650s with a special cable that he made. I thought it was on the warm side but not too much tube sound. I was thinking of ordering one when it comes out.

Did someone say something about Senn releasing a new high end product sometime soon?
I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but the basic answer was that it wasn't ready for prime time. I do believe they'd planned to debut something big for us.

The Senn guy mentioned to me that if they had something big, like a new flagship, they couldn't say at the current moment, but he kinda gave the vibe of there was something in the works... as well there should be.
I'll give shortest odds on Senns new BIG THING being a surround sound headphone. They've just cracked into wireless IEMs and full size noise cancelling headphones. So its the only other market segment in which there is mainstream interest and more importantly, growth, where they haven't got a product competing.
I bet it won't be like the Surrounder and as a consequence, will probably suck as much balls as the Zalman 5.1
