Ok, I'm now officially revising my opinion of the best find at canjam:

Thanks Vicki!

Default Thanks to everyone for an amazing experience!

Well, I left Can Jam at midday on Sunday, and 34 hours and four different flights later I finally made it to my home near Sydney, Australia. (I'm the guy wearing the sunglasses (for medical reasons) listening to grawk's woodies in the pictures a few posts back.) I suspect that might be some sort of Can Jam travel record (although I had to come to Ft Lauderdale for work so it's not as dedicated to the pursuit of superlative headphone experiences as it might sound).

I wasn't able to go out or party due to my current medical condition, but for a relative newcomer to the serious headphone world, this was an amazing event! Kudos to everyone who brought their gear - enthusiasts and vendors alike - and were happy to let others wander around and use it. I reckon it would be hard to find even half the variety in Australia and it would take me 100 times as long to track it down. The sheer variety at the meet was close to mind-boggling and I could easily have spent three or four times as long as I had listening to different combos. I now have a better idea how some of the headphones commonly talked about on head-fi sound which makes it easier to understand comments where they are used as a reference point.

Thanks to everyone who had a hand in making it such an amazing event!

Mazz great to see you there , sorry we did not get a chance to talk, glad you had a great time. Other than a vendor you now have the travel record I believe for a member.

You guys have posted some great reviews and comments about the meet. It sounds like it was a big success, and maybe the best meet yet!

AD2k opinions are a little scarce on headfi so I'll just quickly jump in and add that well I don't completely share ASR's love with of the AD2k w/ electronica. (It's not that their bad with electronica, I enjoy them greatly with my Global Underground Afterhours disks while surfing headfi. I think I just need more SS power behind it to wake up the bass monster.) I can fully endorse the AD2k with classical! I love my yammy/ad2k pairing enough to start picking up more and more classical disks. I think it's due to the coherence and balanced displayed. This is best seen on phrases, such as runs up or down on the cello in Bach's suites. It has ruined other lesser systems that now seem so lumpy in comparison. And for classical the bass is *perfect*. (Talking with ASR, I think I'm just expecting too much.) In anycase, I'm not tempted by any other phone at the moment less I greatly upgrade my amp.

I really, really want to attend a meet of some sort. I wanted to go to CanJam, but my parents asserted what's left of their control over me to prevent the trip from happening. Next year - I'm there.
