Well thanks to all the members that make this event possible, Mike (Tyrion) thanks very much for all your support...Nice to see again a couple of old fellows, Buze, Aaron, Voltron, Jude, Todd, Mikhail, Ray and his lovely wife, Wayne, and nice to meet new guys, Miguel, Vicky, the guys at Clips, Sleek, the guys at Woo audio, Drew...well too many to keep the list on...
Now to the impressions....will begin with the big disappointments, the Woody Denon, not sure why but those simply do not do it for me, two pairs and both the same, whomever want to argue is welcome, but IMO those are a joke in comparison to the R-10, Editions and all the high end cans out there, they do sound good, I even prefer the Ultrasone 780 to them, second in line the GS1000, again, listened them and nothing happen, no magic, and the htird that was not a real disapointment, just that i was really expecting more according ot the reviews and people that rave about them, was the AD2K, it is a good overall headphone, but that's it, nothing that will make me change my mind to get it , sorry till now I'm very happy I have chosen the Editions as I still need to hear something better in current productions....About the Electrostatics, the new HE, same as the Stax, not for me, still the HE90 is the one to go for me...
Now the surprises, IEM, I never paid too much attention to IEM, basically I do not use portable too much, and on top I have a serious problem with the fit, due to my ear channel shape...Well the Klipsch sounding surprisingly good, and a real surprise as they were never involved in hepahdones till now, better while you win a pair of image on the raffle...LOL...again Shure, UE, Senn, showed a couple of new additions but none of them impressed me so much as the new Sleek SA, guys this IEM simply rock, a real shame they do need an amplification, and that makes an amp a need for them, but the tuning system and the sound is perfect for me...
BTW it seems that I missed the fun of the concert, after the second song, Hey Joe, that was a real disapointment for me, as I'm a Hendrix fan, it seems that things got a lot better and better, unfortunately my wife was not feeling OK, so we left, sorry to have missing the fun...
BTW does anybody has info about the Crossroads amp, I won one and was trying to find info and nothing shows up!!!!

Neutrality, accuracy? OK, just ask yourself first: Do you know for sure how the recording is supposed to sound? So for me euphony is all about!!! Please do yourself a favor, stop listening your gear, and begin to feel the music instead!!!

And how about now the Ultrasone Edition 9?
EQUIPO HEAD-FI HISPANO: DILE ADIOS A TUS AHORROS!!!
I was at this big headphone festival last week in Ft. Lauderdale. It was called CanJam '08, and, man, was it sweet. There were people there from all over the U.S.of A., Canada, and the world. I wanted to go there because there was all this really cool headphone gear - amplifiers, headphones, sources, and even a big room full of amazing speakers and stuff. Then after being there for an hour or so, I realized that I was getting high just by being around all the really cool people.
It was just like those stories you used to tell me about Woodstock and Monterrey back in the day. Like, all these people in one place enjoying the same thing, then enjoying each other's company even more. I mean, there were some people that were, like, vendors - people who build and sell the stuff. Man, some of those cats and kitties were way cool, in fact, all of them were. Then there were all the members of Head-Fi (that's the internet group that pulled everyone together), which is run by a really cool dude named Jude.
Anyhow, by the middle or end of the setting up day (that was Friday), vendors and members alike had become family attending a big party or reunion. By then, I was grooving with the good vibes, and having the time of my life. I got to thinking, though ... how did this thing come to be? I asked some people, and they said it was this Meet Master guy named tyrion who got some of his posse to help him arrange the gig. I said, wow, I gotta meet this cat. Well, I did, and he is one cool dude. tyrion then hooked me up with Team Florida (extended), and they were boomana (this chic is hawt), NightWoundsTime, jp11801, Guss2, HighLife, Voltron, n_maher, immtbiker, and some loser named agile_one. He said there were two guys who weren't there, Wmcmanus and thrice, 'cause they both had some really lame work excuses.
My brain is still a bit addled, so I can't quite remember everything that happened, but I can assure you that no animals were harmed, no important laws were broken, and the pigs only had to come once to calm the proceedings down - he was a cool pig, though, just doing his job. Oh, wait, on Saturday night there was this really tight blues band that came and played ... at least I think it was Saturday. Let's see ... I remember some other stuff, too. Walking to a hamburger joint called 5 Guys for lunch. Boy did they put out a mean burger and some excellent fries. The next day it was the same walk, but we ended up at a burrito joint called Moe's, also mui excellente'. Oh, and the place all this was at? It was the Embassy Suites, and it was wicked nice.
I was staying with my homie, Voltron in a room there, but all kind of people wandered in and out of that room, some of them even crashed there. One dude even slept in the tub ... some cat named stevieo, then everyone wanted to do it ... flop in the tub, I mean .... strange what happens to people when they are partying ... could be worse, I guess.
Well, the man is looking over my shoulder, so I need to get back up front and ask some more peeps if they "want to supersize that?", so I'll write more later.
Your son,
agile

Dear Son,
I am glad that you got to experience the ultimate gig in the best pad.
Now you know why your mother and I still think that we're cool, even though most young people call us old fogeys. How can the youth of today call us old, when we saw the likes of Hendrix and Joplin, and ran naked through mud puddles at Yasgar's Farm? Compare that to our parents, who thought that Mayberry was a great place to pick up a pie and Black Friday was a real day and not just a Steely Dan song.
This was a day of enlightenment for you, son, and please be patient when you tell your children about Canjam '08 thirty years from now and they blow you off because the microchip in their head, cannot comprehend what being "cool in the old days" really was.
Love,
The old man and the old lady

Wow. Looks like everyone had such a good time! I really should go one year.
Also, can someone tip me off as to what the Singlepower Odyssey is? It looked like a UFO? Was it a one off or something? Or part of the secret amp line Mikal has going? I read Eds words (on page 24) but it didn't go into any detail.

I'm impressed you rate it over the SP Transparency. I have been using it in my speaker system since last Nov. and I am impressed every day at what a great preamp it is. I cant wait for my tubed preamp to get here from Mikhail.
