Joe's got new amps? Sounds like it's time for a SoFla Meet. Wait, I didn't just say that did I?

Just a joke.

I have a better idea, lets do a instant replay of Can Jam, for everyone who didnt get to hear everything they wanted or missed.

On another note, I have a Barn with Mucho room, we can use for a mini meet.

You have a barn and Singlepower amps? How cool is that. I don't believe there has been a meet in a barn yet. It's 2 hours away, but I'd do it. I need some time between it and CJ just keep my sanity.

It is cool. How much barn-in do most phones need?

Thanks, I'll be here all week.

I may be one of the few this weekend who didn't get caught in a passed out position involving a floor or bathtub. Sorry to disappoint.

Thanks.

True it is what it is, good for visual sketching etc. I'm surprised I could hold the damn thing that steady...

Had I brought some, ahem, real gear, I'd never have found time to listen.

Thanks to Jack, Justin, and everyone else that said the jack on my Portaphile probably just needed resoldering. Sure 'nuff! Here's my restored eensy-weensy rig (aka. for wusses), with fresh velcro and one of the cables I got at the meet.

Now if I could only bring the soldering iron over here. That ppa output stage has been sitting there for months.

Gotta learn to take better pictures.

If you party here in SoCal you just might. We will be doing shots of tequila, straight up.

Since I didn't get a email saying I won the ue11 raffle(I don't know if they even pulled the winning ticket yet).
I just orderd them using the CanJam 20% discount code HEADFI08
before the discount expires 5/12.

Just need to get the impressions made.

Proved that despite its huge size, the CD3000 can be shoved down one's throat.

So you liked better the UE11 than the Sleek and the Klipschs, oh man, the Sleeks sound so good here, the klipschs are on the bass ehavy side, but very good as well...!!!

Neutrality, accuracy? OK, just ask yourself first: Do you certainly know how the recording is supposed to sound? Sorry, but for me euphony is all about!!! Please do yourself a favor, stop listening your gear, and enjoy the music instead!!!

Home setup: Sony DVP-NC555ES => BJC IC's => RPX-33 MKII/RPX-31 => UE9
"On the go" setup: Panasonic SL-CT570 => XJ-03 => Sleek SA6/Klipsch Images X5/X10

Proved that despite its huge size, the CD3K can be shoved down one's throat...wait...but now I'm shoving the Ultrasone Edition 9???

Goodness, that'd be awesome if I won! I wonder if someone will post on here if they win?

I won a pair of Sleeks at CanJam They do sound good & the sound can be tailored with all the adapters it comes with.
I have only spent a little time with them so far.
Right now I would place my Shure E500s above them.

The Klipsch image top of the line model also was nice but I liked the UE11s more, even preffered the 11s to the UE10s.

I liked the 11 better then the 10 as well, but there is no way I could trade the sound of the Sleeks for any Shure I have tried, to the point that the 420 I won is on the way to the buyer. That fit was the main issue, but also a way too much bass overpowering the rest of the spectrum...

Just play with the Sleeks a little more, use the black tube (no filter inside) and taylor the bass first, later on play with the treble. They do need an amp BTW, out of a jack they sound a little lean. I listened them today the whole day out of the LISA, Oh man!!!! Later on tried the Crossroads BTW (tiny nice amp) and the same, good punchy bass and the overall presentation is very good...Of course still not at the level of a full size heapdhone but very enjoyable at least...

I played with the bass ports & got it where I liked it,I haven't tried the treble tubes yet.
I am using A maxed portaphile V2^2 /5.5g Imod Alo super cotten dock with all my IEMs.
The portaphile is a match made in heaven for the Shures & is just a great amp all around other then battery life.
I may pick up a Pico for the UE11s.

Default There goes the wallet.

Thanks to CanJam, I got the itch. Been a good boy the last year or so, so...

Broke down and ordered the Benchmark dac1 and oppo 981hd for work. I'd rather have that woo amp, but I don't think the exposed tubes will survive the office. Maybe next time.

Also ordered an epos m-series subwoofer and stands for the m5 so I can retire the Polk rt16.

Not quite ready to splurge on what I really want, and this makes sense along an upgrade path. Aside from the dac, it'll serve nicely as a TV surround system. Already have a second pair of the minis. Just need a center channel and the receiver/amp.

Now to figure out how to hack that benchmark to run on battery power.
