This is an upsampling DAC/Preamp/Headphone Amp combo unit.
The upsampling DAC is user selectable up to 24Bit/192 KHz and has 4 digital inputs: 1 AES/EBU (Balanced), 2 Coaxial RCA and 1 Toslink. There are also three digital outputs: 1 balanced, 1 coaxial and 1 Toslink. This unit has the optional 24Bit/96KHz ADC so you can send any input source, digital or analog, through the digital outputs.
The preamp runs in class A with a dual-mono design and a digital volume control. There are three analog inputs, one balanced and 2 unbalanced. This has the optional phono input so Aux1 is actually a phono preamp. It also has one balanced and one unbalanced preamp output.
The digital and analog sections each have a separate toroidal transformer. There is also an unbalanced bypass input if you want to use this as a stereo front-end for a surround system.
Lastly, it has a true headphone amp. I compared the headphone amp on the DP200 to the Stello HP100 when I had both and to me they sounded essentially the same.
The reason I am selling this is that I am using it in my work system and frankly it is overkill, as I do not do any critical listening at work. In addition, I am not using the full functionality of the unit, i.e. the phono stage and ADC. Lastly I have a Headroom 2007 desktop portable that could serve as well for my needs and frankly I could use the space that would be freed up by the swap.
The DP200 does not have a USB input so I would also include the Trends UD-10 and battery power supply I currently use to deliver USB audio to the DP200 from my PC.
The unit has two small scratches on the front panel. They are really small, but the front is so smooth that they are noticeable.
I am looking for $1400 which includes shipping (CONUS) and PayPal fees. I will ship just about anywhere but the shipping difference is on the buyer and I will not undervalue the shipment or ship via a nontrackable courier.
