For sale: one Monica 3 Non-Over-Sampling 16-bit DAC, with TOSLINK (optical) input and 24V power supply provided by DIY Paradise. It comes in the standard Malaysian Teak hardwood case.
It has the current tweaks as of December 2008 provided by Yeo, including the JFET mods. Due to the JFETs being soldered onto the under-side of the board, and the somewhat sizable heatsink on the top of the board, the board does not mount flush or level in the case. This has no effect on sound, though, obviously, but care should be taken should you chose to remount it. The wood of the case is slightly warped, so the edges of the lid do not fit flush, though it generates enough heat that it's generally better to keep the lid slightly opened when turned on, just to increase component life.
The optical input module is the one customization (they normally come with a BNC connector for electrical SPDIF). The input module is the Twisted Pear TOSLINK Module. The hole in the case should be the proper diameter should you chose to replace the TOSLINK module with a BNC or RCA connector for electrical SPDIF, provided you have the soldering skills and desire.
Also included is the standard 24V power supply brick provided by DIY Paradise.
As far as sound, it's smooth and analog sounding with digital sources, though punchier and with more impact (and much higher output levels) than it's little sister, the Monica 2. It is in perfect working condition, and I hate to get rid of it, but money has gotten too tight, so I have to let her go.

EDIT: Yeo (of DIY Paradise, who built this for me) has very graciously offered to extend the warranty of this DAC, to one year from the time it is purchased from me. I will provide him with the purchaser's contact info so that he knows who he is providing the warranty to. Yeo is pretty flexible and understanding with these things, and extremely helpful.
