Default SOLD : Monarchy M33 DAC/Pre-Amp/Balanced

SOLD

Hey guys,

I've collected too many DACs and this one is up for sale. It is a really great classic DAC (read as : $1500 MSRP DAC that really sounds like a $1500 DAC but sells considerably cheaper now that it's not "new" - and most "new" DACs I've heard don't sound that good until you get to the same $1500 price point). I got it from sacd lover about a month ago, previous listing.

There are tons of reviews of this unit online, all very positive.

This unit really has it all (with a little addition by me). It can function as a DAC, Pre-Amp and Unbalanced to Balanced converter!

The DAC chips used are twin PCM63s, very musical and sweet to listen to. The I/V stage is fully discrete (whereas most modern units are not and it shows). The line level / pre-amp stage uses opamps but you can skip it if you want, though the pre-amp is very nice and I've used it myself with a high-end GainClone.

Digital Input:
Optical TOSLINK
BNC Coax (can include RCA adapter)
AES/EBU XLR

Analog Input:
2x Unbalanced RCA Pairs (for pre-amp use and unbalanced to balanced conversion)

Analog Output:
Unbalanced RCA from DAC - I/V (discrete output, no volume control)
Unbalanced RCA Pre-Amp/Line-Level (opamps, with volume control)
Balanced XLR Pre-Amp/Line-Level (opamps, with volume control)

Photos coming tonight.

Price is $500 including Priority (2-3 day) shipping and PayPal fees ($475 local pickup).

Thanks

Killer DAC at a great price, none of the "new" DACs even at the $1000 level sound as good, or offer this many features.

VERY VERY good DAC, beats most DACs at $1000 current price, I'm only selling because I'm planning a SERIOUS setup at work (read as : spending a few grand on just parts).
