I picked this near-minty refurbed unit from a recent eBay auction, and the brand-new remote in a lucky find shortly thereafter. After receiving the unit, I gave the battery a full charge, updated to the latest firmware, and Rockboxed it. Since then, it has sat unused, in a case in a drawer. Never been out of the house. Frankly, I just don't have time to rip & manage music for portable play & therefore still use my old, trusty PCDP.
From the front, top, bottom, & sides the unit appears new, with no scratches or blemishes. The back has a few dings that show evidence of the refurb work. Still, I'm a picky SOB, and I have no qualms about its appearance. With the brand-new remote, I think this is about as close to NOS as you'll find anywhere.
