SOLD: Apogee Duet with n-maher cable - price reduced
I'm selling my Apogee dac with a custom cable made for me by n_maher. The cable has the connector for the apogee and is terminated on the other end with a pair of rca's. The cable is long so you have flexibility with placement of the Duet. The Duet is in perfect condition and comes with the box and included breakout and firewire cables.
$390 including shipping conus and paypal fees. I will list on Ebay for anyone that wants the live.com discount.

Since Mike is too lazy to post pictures, here is the cable that I built for him.
IIRC it's ~5' and constructed of 4 strands of HGA solid silver wire housed in nylon multifilament and terminated with Vampire RCA's. I'll also throw this out there to help mike sell the Duet, if someone wanted a different breakout cable, like one that had inputs and outputs all they would have to do is send in that cable and I'll send back a brand new, built to their needs cable, no charge.

Mike way too cheap my friend! The cable if you could squeeze one out of Nate would cost approx $100 which would make this unit really $290 ish for the freaking dac.
Did you ever work for Crazy Eddie's in NYC?

Don't laugh but I am actually considering the purchase of a refurbished macbook to get this set up. It is a very good price.

absolutely and it negates having to purchase 1/4 to rca adapters a much better solution socially and visually as well.

jp#'s can speak much more to the sonic aspects of replacing the stock tangle so I'll sidestep that one but yes, I think functionally it makes a lot of sense. And Mike's price is absurd, considering a lot of folks I know who own this DAC have compared it directly to ~$1000 and up units and found it to more than hold its own.
