I purchased this DV-970 on Dec 4, 2006 directly from Oppo. I compared its CD output to my $2500 Arcam CD33, and it more than held its own. I also tested its SACD and DVD-A quality and was *very* impressed. Finally I connected it to my DAC1, which resulted in near-flawless audio performance. Oh yeah: as a scaling DVD player it rocks.
Why selling? I just bought a PS3 today and no longer have enough connections in my AV system for the Oppo. So I'm selling it for $115 shipped, which is $50 off the price from Oppo including shipping. I will drop the price to $100 for local pickup in lower Manhattan.
All accessories, including remote and HMDI cable, are included. It's boxed and ready to send.
The 970 is the winner of many awards, including The Absolute Sound's 2006 Product of the Year as a standalone product in the Budget category.
