IC: 3rd or 4th gen ipod, HD shot.

Just a shot in the dark, I've had this ipod sitting in my house for a year. The hard drive is toast, It's not in very pretty shape either. It still holds a charge , not sure how long.

I'm not sure whether it is a third gen or fourth, It's from 2004 so I'm assuming it's a third gen (if someone could definitively explain any physical difference. I could verify which one it is). I don't have a digicam so pics will come to anyone who is interested.

Make an offer, doesn't need to be much more than shipping costs and packaging costs, and the half hour of my time that it takes to package it and walk back and forth from the post office.

A 3G has a row of four buttons between the screen and the scroll wheel.

oh ok, I thought that was the secong gen, well than this is a fourth gen with the wolfson dac, stick a HD in there and you're good to go.

BTW, everything besides the HD is in perfect order, I entered the bios and the scrool wheel worked just fine.
