For Sale: Myryad MC-100 CD Player
I have recently upgraded to a new cd player and my previous player is for sale. This player is 5 years old and has been very well-cared for, housed in an entertainment center (with ventilation). It has no marks on it at all. It would be great for a "second system" or as a budget-intro into mid-fi (from your standard run of the mill mass market stuff). The unit was manufactured in December, 1996, so it has the 1-bit DAC, but it's a good one. This component was a Stereophile B class cd player, and listed for $1200 when I bought it in 1999. The used average blue book value on Audiogon is $590.
I'm asking $450 (obo) plus shipping in the U.S. only. I'll pay the 3% paypal fee.
I'd describe the sound quality is good, neutral, clean and pretty detailed. The unit has a coax digital output so it can be used as a transport. Doug Jesse of Reference Audio Mods says this unit is great for modding and he has already modded an MC-100 with great results (I spoke to both Doug and the owner of the modded Myryad). The build quality on this machine is exceptional. It's also quite stunning in appearance.
