empirical audio off ramp turbo 2 USB->SPDIF converter
superclock 4 upgrade
includes USB cable, power supply, CD with the most optimal diddle files/SRC for use with foobar for you.
this is a driverless model, just plug in and play
IMHO steve really focused a lot of his technical ability into this particular model and i think the highlights are the voltage regulation and the truly superb clocking ability!!
windows and mac compatible
i have used this to positively enhance my link from pc/mac to my dac1 pre.
i connected into my dac1 pre via coax, making use of the dedicated jitter handling and superior USB implementation on the off ramp, i found it helped to get rid of the harsh digital sound and made the link warmer and more analogous when compared straight into dac1 pre's usb input.
this model is the AES/EBU model and has a captive 110 ohm impedance tuned AES/EBU plug on the end of an approximate 3 foot cable. the cable is the type of cable similar to a network cable so its kind of rigid and has natural bends/kinks in it, like rigid outer sheathing
the internals/case and cable are 100% stock (unmodified) as it came from steve at empirical, only addition being the underside now has 4 brightstar isonode polymer vibration feet
the original feet will be included.
power supply (input:100-240v) is two-pin euro plug and with an adapter runs perfectly off uk mains/pugs
this would apply also to anywhere else in the world with the use of a simple locale adapter
will provide a euro to uk adapter for uk buyer.
USB B type plug on one end [square], with two leds, one to signify USB link/input, the other to signify power input.
if you were really after an off-ramp that would connect to your bnc or coaxial device, let me know and i can arrange to sell you a neutrik 110ohm to 75ohm bnc and coax convertor box which i have used with it to great effect -
scrap that, i will include that to purchaser.
the unit is in great condition.
100% perfect working order!
comes with original box (similar to grado pizza box) with foam inlay to hold it
ships from UK
NB. my pricing is squarely aimed at UK buyers, i can not and will not allow my price to be affected and influenced by currency exchange rates and the price that this may convert to in other countries. i base my price on what i paid, and then take off a fair amount for age and use on top of that.
i make mention of this now as i seem to have a lot of interest from overseas buyers, usually north america commenting on how expensive items seem to them. frankly, and with all due respect i have no interest in anyone elses currency, as long as i happy with my pricing for UK buyers in reflection on how much we would pay over here with our import duties/VAT etc etc
