FS: Cyrus CD7Q w/ PSX-R Power Supply
Good news, this is a fantastic source, with the following good qulities:
Factory upgraded CD7 player with QDAC and external power supply
Dual-RCA Outs, perfect sound
Great Cyrus build quality and form factor
CD7Q is in perfect cosmetic condition
Can't get this one very easily in the US
Plays SACD/CD hybrids okay. (not SACD, just CD)
US Voltage, designed without third pin/grounding
Remote and original manuals/packaging included
External PSX-R power supply works flawlessly, normally costs over $700 alone (only for use with any Cyrus players)
Bad news:
Cannot be used digitally: coax output is FUBAR, sound oddly pulsates for some reason
Won't play DVD/CD dual disks, at least not my new NIN disk.
Won't play CDRs, or more accurately, I've only got one that works and I didn't make it.
Shows "disk error" more often than I'd like, but always plays a regular CD or a SACD/CD hybrid after a few tries at most.
Don't even think about scratched disks not skipping.
Cosmetic paint scratches on back of PSX-R from previous owner (might be small dents)
So, it could be dying, but it has seen constant use for a couple of years and it has ALWAYS performed like this. For all I know, it will keep going exactly like this forever.
First one to offer $600 including insured cont. US shipping gets it. Guaranteed not DOA and I'll give you a full week to try it out. If you want to send it back to me after seven days, I'll refund everything except shipping costs. PayPal instant transfer only. Absolutely no other payment accepted and no buyers outside the cont. US.
If I were you, I would buy it for the PSX-R power supply, which is awesome and very heavy - a huge pain to get in the US and plan on getting a CD6 or CD8x down the line if/when the CD7Q dies. If it doesn't sell, that's exactly what I'm going to do. Or, the CD7Q might be worth repairing.
I'll listen to any offer. I'd be willing to sell the PS-R alone to a fellow Cyrus owner; make me an offer. My feedback is perfect here, and on Audiogon and Ebay as radrd.
