Default FS: CJ Walker 55 Turntable

this is now sold

I purchased this turntable here on headfi about 2.5 years ago. It has a Linn basik arm, cart not included at new asking price .
The turntable was part of the recent Mayberry on Acid meet and since my digital source crapped out on me it was my sole source at the meet and quite the hit. This table is a great way to break into vinyl at a fraction of the cost of many of the new entry level decks. I liked this deck better than the vpi scout I owned at the same time. My linn lp 12 does outperform it but has $1500 tonearm and $1000 replacement motor from origin live. From reading on the web the cj walker line was made in the early-mid 80s. The 55 was the first tables and won a best buy award and was followed by the 58 (lower quality and the 61 (higher quality). Sumiko cart not included in asking price but available for $50 with the purchase of this table. I would place this table as better than the entry level tables made today and will easily outclass the rega 1 and 3.
I strongly prefer to sell locally or at least within a two hour drive. Locals get set up included. Shipping will be expensive and a PITA.
Price is $300 plus shipping.

I so wish that you lived near Philadelphia. That table is sweet!

Extreme price drop $300, this new price does not include the sumiko cart, I would sell this with the cart for $350
