If selling a "cloned" amp, do not use manufacturer or model in your "for sale" post
Members who are not Member-of-Trade may feel free to post sale ads for individual amps in this forum. This includes amps of all manufacturers, and DIY amps (whether built by the individual or for him by a MOT).
However, we do ask that amps which are "clones" of other amps not include the manufacturer or model of said amp in the for sale post. This includes links to other sites without such restrictions, as it defeats what we are trying to accomplish.
Lots of folks make DIY amps that are clones of other amps as a hobby. Once said amp is offered for sale, however, this is another matter entirely. We have chosen to not allow the use of another manufacturer's mark to extract more value from the sale of a cloned amp, as it comes at the expense of said manufacturer. This is, in the view of the mod staff, not OK.
We hope that everyone understands our position with regard to these cloned amps offered for sale. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact a moderator for clarification.
