FS: Single Power Concerto ES - BACK ON THE MARKET
S T I L L A V A I L A B L E !
Single Power Concerto ES (Dynamic and Electrostatic in a Maestro chassis) with Tube Rectified PSU
Chassis: Maestro + ½ Chassis PSU
Electrostatic Headphone Connectors: HE90 and Stax
Dynamic Headphone Connector: S/E
Inputs: one (1) XLR and one (1) S/E
Included 14 Tube Complements (3 Dynamic, 3 PSU, 8 Electrostatic): Dynamic Driver: GE 6SN7GTB / Dynamic Output: GE 6BL7GT / Electrostatic Stage Tubes: Front Drivers: Westinghouse 6SNGT, Rear Drivers: GE 6BL7 GTA / Electrostatic Output Quad: Electro-Harmonix EL34, Rectifier Power Supply Tubes: Voltage regulator: GE GL-0B3 / Rectifiers: Electro-Harmonix 5U4GB
Condition: It looks just like the day I received it.
Upgrades:
- Dual umbilical cords between PSU and Maestro case
- 4 channel stepped attenuator
- Tube rectified external PSU
The amp was featured at the Marin meet on October 15th, 2006 (meet impression at SF Bay Area Meet in Marin -- Saturday, October 14, 2006). Both Voltron and Neilv were in attendance and had this to say…
Voltron: “*drum roll please* the new SinglePower Concerto ES--Mikhail's combination electrostatic and dynamic amp in a single Maestro case. In effect, it is an 11-TUBE AMP SECTION COMBINING AND ES-1 AND A MAESTRO AMP TOGETHER, POWERED BY A SEPARATE PSU WITH 2 RECTIFIER TUBES AND 1 VOLTAGE REGULATING TUBE THAT CAN BE ROLLED TO CHANGE THE VOLTAGE OF THE AMP. It has 14 tubes in all, and unbelievable sound. We had 3 people rocking out at once on the two electrostatic and one single-ended dynamic headphone outs. Really all I can say is "WOW!... To expand on the earlier confirmation, the Concerto ES IS a complete Maestro ZR and a complete ES-1 in the same Maestro-sized case...
The power supply is separate… and the voltage regulator tube is forward and flanked by two rectifier tubes further back. The voltage tubes have noble gased in them for different voltages, and each glows a different color...
As for impressions, THE SOUND OUT OF BOTH AMP SECTIONS IS EXTRAORDINARY... It is dead quiet and then produces a incredibly exciting and musical sound…
The dynamic section was REALLY DYNAMIC! It drove my new and very piggy K340s like nothing I have heard. THE 650S SINGLE ENDED SOUNDED MORE LIKE THEY DO BALANCED OUT OF THE CONCERTO.”.
Neilv: “…I THOUGHT THAT THE AMP WAS AMAZING, and with a tube roll that added some more warmth and bass later in the evening, this amp REALLY STARTED GELLING WITH THE EMM LABS GEAR. It was cool that we got to hook up all the electrostats, including the Orpheus, up to the same source. With 2 HE90's, 2 HE60's, an Omega 2, and an SRM404 to hear it all.”
If you are interested, you already know how much this thing cost. Taking serious cash offers from reputable buyers only. No trades. At this time, I'll only accept local pick-up to prevent potential shipping and payment issues (for both you and me). If you know a trustworthy head-fier in the Chicago area, feel free to use him as an “escrow” to pick-up the amp in person to make the transaction “safer” and smoother – I’m located on the Chicago North Shore.
If interested, please e-mail me (no PM) at JR [AT] JRGEOFFRION [DOT] COM with your offer and your details. My feedback is in my signature.

Inside:
PSU:
Stepped Attenuator:
PS: My associated Virtual Dynamics Master cables (1m XLR IC, 1.5m RCA IC, and 8' PC) are also for sale.

To clarify...
This is an ES-1 + Tube rectified PSU + Maestro chassis + Dynamic Section.
As reference, a base ES-1 starts in the $3,500-4,000 range.

This is going back on the market as it was sold 4 months ago but the buyer could not provide the funds to this day.
