I'm getting rid of equipment that have been sitting for over a year. I have two Canamps for sale. One is stock, the other is modded. Caveat: I have experienced line noise interference when I use either at home. At work and in the garage, they are dead silent. Others have experienced the same thing, so I believe it is inherent to the design of the amp. I have tested both just now and they sound fine. At this point, I've got too many amps as is, and I'm ready to see these go.
Modded Heed Canamp -*SOLD* $325 Shipped in US *SOLD*
I bought this used and I've put about 15 hours on it. I don't know how many hours the previous owner has put on it. I bought it from this thread: FS: Modded Heed Canamp
It has the follwoing upgrades: Sprague Koolohm resistors, 35v Panosonic Capacitors, Elna Silmic II's, UF4002 diodes, DIP8 socket with AD823 opamp, and Panasonic poly/polyprops on the underside of the board.
The LED light on the front has gone out. I thought it would be easy to swap the LED out, but it's glued to the front faceplate. I tried pulling it out; the wires came off, the LED didn't. The two yellow wires that you see in the picture below used to be connected to the LED. Rather than force it out, I just left it as is. The original box that came with it is pretty beat up. Sonically, everything works as it should.
Stock Heed Canamp - *SOLD* $275 Shipped in US *SOLD*
I bought this used and I've put about 10 hours on it. I don't know how many hours the previous owner has put on it. Works perfectly.
Akg owners...alert...this amp really does well for the akg k701 IMHO and I love it with my k271s. Sorry...couldn't hold back my love for the Canamp...carry on.
If you have florescence lights, turn them off. If you got wall warts or ac to dc converters, unplug them or isolate them from the ac your using for the amps. This could be the problem. These things are real noisy and most people do not know what is causing the problem. They just search for new equipment and tweaks .
