Default FS: Maxxed Balanced M^3 (price drop)

Since I am selling all my headphone gear, this amp sadly has to go as I no longer have any headphones to use it with. I had it built by SFT (of SFT audio) in 2007. Strictly premium components and cabling were used throughout. It has a 3 year parts and labour warranty, of which roughly 2 years remain. Here is what's inside: -
  • Quad OPA627 opamps
  • Dual Walt Jung Super Regulator power supplies (much better than STEPS)
  • Nichicon Muse FX, WIMA, Vishay-Dale RN55
  • Stepped Attenuator
  • Bass boost caps are 4 x RIFA PHE426 with a premium bass boost switch.
  • Silver solder
  • No discrete capacitors in the signal path (unless bass boost is switched on)
  • Solid core, high current wiring
  • Socketed opamps
  • Thick milled metal chassis
  • Currently configured for 200-240V power supply
  • Transformer can be re-wired for 115V operation

The balanced topology provides 4 times the power of the single-ended version. This amp has authoritatively driven my full size speakers, GS1000, Edition 9, TakeT H2 and various other headphones I've owned throughout the last year.

It has been treated well, as you can see from the photographs. There is a scratch on the top panel as can be seen in the photograph. Other than that there are no noticable blemishes.

I had it built for $1100, and am selling it for US$600 + shipping. I will ship worldwide. Add 4% for Paypal (sorry, Paypal's fees have increased). They will be shipped from Sydney, Australia (pickup available if local). Questions welcome.

Thanks!

It's a pure balanced amp. Only balanced inputs and outputs.

It looks like the transformer has a split primary, It may be an easy task to rewire it for 117v power

Thanks for pointing that out Nikongod. The trafo can be rewired for 115V operation.
