Default When I visit...and don't

I find that I tend to poke around in this forum a lot when I'm not satisfied with the sound I'm getting from my cans. Not so much when I am.

A couple of months ago I bought a pair of Sennheiser HD435s. Now I own some great expensive cans from all the "usual suspects'...Sennheiser, Grado, Sony, Beyerdynamic, etc. But it doesn't matter. The 435s just SOUND RIGHT on the sources I use most...HD Radio (via the headphone output/line output of my Accurian table radio. And before you criticize this inexpensive table radio, take a listen to what it sounds like at my house http://www.theproductionroom.net/hd.m3u and see for yourself why I listen!), internet radio and high bitrate mp3s/wmas/aac+ on my Dell Axim X51v, cds on my portable cd player, my Archos Gmini 402, XM satellite radio, and tv from my DirecTV receiver.

Talk about "giant killers"...I'll say it out loud...they provide me with more listening pleasure than my more expensive cans. I'm not saying they're more accurate. But I ain't talking about accuracy. Obviously I'm not talking about state of the art source material here. But it's the source material I most enjoy listening to in my easy chair, and in bed at night...when I listen via headphones for hours. This material just sounds RIGHT through the HD435s. Which is why I'm not here as much as I used to be. If you were married to (insert beautiful woman here...Angelina Jolie?), would you be wasting time in bars?

Tried other amps beside the ones in your profile?

But anyhow, if you're enjoy then keep on enjoying it!

Default Yup

I've tried many amps (my profile is years old). But honestly the HD435s can be driven to hearing-threatening levels by the amp in my PocketPC.

The amp I'm using now was designed and built by a friend of mine...a wonderful radio station engineer. It's a one-off with ONE WATT PER CHANNEL (OUCH!) GREAT for HD600s, kind of silly for something as sensitive as the HD435.
