As the title says, I'm considering getting a pair to hear what these cans are about, but, as I've not really looked into these in the past, have absolutely no idea what they're worth, or what the going rate for these are.
Let's assume they're in really good condition, unmodded. What would something like this be worth?
I didnt go with these only because the looked as if they would be heavy around the ear. I personaly dont like the feel of heavy things around my head hehee
What is a K240L? Do you mean the late production sextett? Sextetts go for $50 to $100.
My understanding was that the K240 had the E (early), M (middle), L (late) identiers for their production dates, or based on when they were manufactured. Maybe I am wrong.

Forgive my ignorance of the 240's.
There are several different versions of the K240. You're describing the sextett which is generally considered the best sounding version. The three versions of the sextett have progressively less bass. This LP version might still be available FS: AKG K-240 sextetts LP

it went
K240- the original, for which the box sometimes said "Sextett" or "Cardan"
K240M- simpler version
K240DF- specialized version with diffuse-field equalization
K240S- later redesign of M with lower impedance
only the original K240 is called the Sextett, and has the Head-fi terminology of early, middle, and late production.
