W100 earpad replacement procedure
One of the earpads just popped off my W100 after it knocked aganst my desk.
Fine, thought I, I'll just put it back on.
30 minutes later and I still can't seem to stretch this damn thing over the housing. Please someone offer me a hint before these lovely phones become kindling.

I'm of the *fix it or smash it* school myself, but maybe a call to service would help?

Hopefully you already have the pad back on…

C'mon now folks, we have enough AT Woodie pad swappers to help a brother out, no?

There really isn't any trick to it, to be honest. Usually I slip the thick part of the pad overlap over the fat part of the plastic housing and just slowly slip the rest of the pad into place. At the end, there's just a stretch/tug to get it into place, but that's about that.
The first time is always a pain, as you're afraid of breaking it, but once you've done it once or twice you realize it's not as hard as it initially seemed.
Best,
-Jason

Yup, thanks Jason. I stretched it a bit more and it worked out. Pain in the neck, though.

I had to do the same with my W11's the other day, and I'm assuming the experience is similar since I had a similar struggle. What I found to work best was to put the slim area into the crack first (with the pad properly aligned on the headphone) and slowly work around to the wide part, holding the margins down with whichever fingers you have free. The widest section I did last, because it was the most pliable, and could be stretched into the crack much more easily than the narrow section, which had next to no give. Good luck!
oops, I see you got it as I was typing my post!
