Very good fake V700DJs?
Hey guys, just registered to what looks like an amazing forum, hope someone is kind enough to help me.
I have searched and found this thread: Possible pair of counterfeit MDR-V700DJ and elsewhere similar problems such as HELP NEEDED Sony MDR-V700DJ (not 56k friendly) - AVForums
The reason I am creating this topic on top of these is that although my headphones seem to check all the 'genuine' boxes, I still just have an odd feeling about them (buying them from China on eBay, the price).
Anyway, here are the pics:
Fakes now using 'trademark' green Sony banding on headphones connectors? Note also the correct screw-on attachment.
The only thing lacking is the CE logo, the cable is correctly matte black, the pearl white bag is also supplied. Someone commented that the French may imply that these are the Canadian version of the V700s? I've given them a listen also and was suprised at the quality of the sound, so my question is: are these authentic or very very good fakes?
Cheers,
Tom

Look at the chrome SONY name logo on the earpads again. From the picture they look like an uneven cast. That's the sign of a fake. But it could be the pics you took. Can yoy do another proper pic of that badge?

The V700Dj was known to have a few fakes floating around on eBay, however, they disputably would have sounded better than the real McCoy, according to Kramer.
I wouldn't worry too much about it because coming from a previous owner, after seeing your pictures, if it was fake there'd probably not be much difference between yours and an authentic pair.

The SONY logo is a recast. The original SONY logo has clearly defined edges. The one in the picture has some uneven edges, which point to it having been copied. Casts made from the original logo are a common mistake found in fake goods. I do inspection of factories in the Far East, and run regularly into these things. There are a couple of other pointers, but i won't mention them since I am sure such info would be valuable for any copiers out there to take note of.

How big is the sound difference? I'm not sure what sound drivers are used in these headphones but presumably these would be s*** compared to the real deal?

As I recall from previous threads, the original V700 wasn't supposed to be the greatest sounding headphone to begin with. But I've never heard it, so I can't say I've had any experience.

If they are fake, they sure did a good job. Can't find any difference with my authentic V700. As for the sounddiffer....I dunnow, I don't like them because of their muddiness, bloated overruling bass with nothing else there.
If the connectors between the headband and cup break within half a year you know you've got the authentic ones

I suspect the headphones you sent me are counterfeit, I am withholding the positive feedback until you can convice me they are, in fact, genuine. But it appears you have upped and left eBay or at least this account. Enjoy my money.

Hello! You mean, you do not like my project, is that right? If it is, we can resolve our problems through consultations. My suggestion is, I can refund half of the money to you, you retain the project. What is your recommendation? Thank you!
=================
That does not solve my problem, I need to KNOW if what you have sold me is genuine Sony equipment or not.
Lets be honest with each other, there are a lot of fake Sony V700s on eBay. The lack of a CE safety mark, the lack of and indication of where the product was manufactured and the poor casting of the Sony logo lead me to believe these are counterfeit.
If you are honest with me and come clean that you have sold me a fake pair of headphones, I will gladly accept the refund you have offered, I will not give you any negative feedback - nobody needs to know except you and I.
Otherwise, if you still maintain these are genuine and can't provide proof that they actually ARE I will be forced to give you negative feedback, inform the eBay fraud department and many of my friends who had considered buying from you in the future.
I hope we can reach a reasonable resolution for this issue.
=================
OK, it is fake ... Let us solve the problem. How much of refunds that you can accept? Sorry again!
