My HFI-780 is a bit tighter on my head than my 750 and 2500, if that's any help to you. Maybe fit you better?

well, i use the quick change pads from the 750: and they are great but, i have way too much clearance between the bottom of the band and my head (about 1,5 cm). it is almost impossible without a sponge in between my head and the band to use them for me.

That's most likely just a marketing tactic. This kind of approaches are being practiced all the time. It's a new phone. So they probably just slapped "new" to whatever to look better. Their rep already said it's the same drivers so which part of SAME do people not understand?

I've got an Ultrasone PRO900 loaner making a brief stop here soon. I'm going to have to call thread up to join me for a listen while it's here.

I have very little experience with Ultrasone headphones, so I'm looking forward to the wee bit o'time I'll have with this new one.

Indeed, insulting is not neccesary. Normal english should do the trick in most cases. After all it's a forum where people from all different parts of the world participate and slip-ups happen. And it's not that native speakers always know how to spell and use grammar properly anyways.
Are you sure? Using the definitive words "it is", or "it's", sure comes across as alluding to fact IMO.

What about this ridiculous speculative statement here? Prematurely concluding that the Pro900 drivers are superior to the ED9's without even hearing the headphone first? That's some brilliant logic.

And again, despite the fact that analobox posted this information prior to his post.

The ear cups of the PRO 900 are smaller but have a larger sound stage, similar to that of the Edition 9. Some of the other points of differentiation are the Nuetrik connectors, soft USC-cable and a carrying case."

I just think it's pretty amazing that we have head-fiers that know more about an unreleased product than the reps of the company actually manufacturing it.

About time, indeed. Enough talking about specs, time to hear the real thing.

Looking forward to your findings.

Ultrasone Debuts PRO 900 Headphone

ok, here's what ultrapaul said in his post linked above: "The PRO 900 features a new 40mm titan-plated driver and a new soft USC-Cable that is paired with Neutrik connectors"

now is it not safe to assume that a higher, more expensive model than the pro750, that's getting new drivers is going to be an improvement? or do you really believe that they're going to use worse drivers? the pro900 has superior drivers than those of the pro750...now...the pro750 and the ed9 share the same drivers...so with that in mind, the pro900 does have improved drivers over the ed9 as well, does it not? i don't see the flaw in logic here. i didn't say anything about the overall sound or the effects of damping/casing (which are very significant) so i'm not saying it sounds better, i'm saying it has improved drivers...

Well, personally, I'm quite fond of Grado's "WWII telegraphist shape", but this is just me I suppose (hehe). Apart from their house sound, I deem its aesthetics to be part of their appeal. These phones will never be accused of looking "generic" to say the least.

Atleast you have something to go with your WWII outfit for halloween. Just zip tie the cord to the inside of your soldier Jacker or vest. So you dont trip on it, And your all set.
