Default Ultrasone 750 verses 2500

Well I have had a Thread on the go as I have just joined this site, as I have being looking for some Headphone that I could use to watch my Television, to get that Cinema experience. The help you all have given me, I have narrowed it down to 2 pairs of Headphones. Ultrasone 750 or Ultrasone 2500. Some of you have said the 750,s but I telephone a HiFi shop who sell this make says I should go for the 2500,s. So anybody got either, please help and send me your opinion. Thanks.

the 2500s are open and have a larger soundstage which would be optimal for watching movies, tv or playing games.

If you don't have any sound that could distract or even disturb you from the outside I would recommend the 2500. I don't know how they do with tv but they have a more wider sound and the bass goes just a little further and intenser than the 750's. But that's my opinion. Hey, and they also do very great with music

Hi Merc,

First off, they are the essentially the same headphone, the difference being that the PROline 750 is closed-back, while the PROline 2500 are open.

So my question to you is, do you need isolation from external sounds (or perhaps you don't wish to bother others in the room with sound leakage from your headphones)?

If the answer is yes, you need isolation, then go for the PROline 750. If isolation is not an issue, then the PROline 2500 will give you just a little more bass extension and a slightly airier soundstage. But the difference overall is pretty negligible, unless you are hearing both models one after the other.

I know of a couple of folks who were told they were on backorder at NSL and the wait would be 2 weeks, but then they got their Ultrasones just a couple days later.

So I wouldn't get too invested in availability rumors. Chances are, they are simply erring on the side of caution.

NSL is backordered as of today. I was told that the shipment was overdue and it could be anytime. I checked everywhere else and not only is it $389-399 but all are out of stock.

I see it as a good sign!

Where are you checking? A google search picks up a lot of hits. DjDeals.com has them in stock for $389 w/ free shipping.

One might also try RMC Audio, B&H Photo, DJ Deals, and very possibly others, which have a "call or e-mail for lowest price" feature.
