They look real to me. How do they sound?
If it sounds similar to your e2c's but a lot more full, its definitely real.

It's probably just the angle, but, assuming that E4c rubber sleeves are also used in E500s, the ring is a little buldgy.

He was located here in Australia and told me they were ex-army.
They actually sound quite good, I am using my E2C tips on (because they fit), and they sound really good, I'd equate it to as good as the E2C's.
They just feel a bit cheap, like if you see the pictures, the main black part that looks shiny is kind of cheap plasticy and stuff.
i'd probably understand if: shure made 'batches' and each batch was a slight improvement on the next.
real shures:
my ones:
notice hte colour variation, and aslo the font of the L and R is different.
Also if you compare the little 'downhill' part that goes down on the silvery part just before the tip, the real ones its a bit longer and the 'fake' ones its a bit shorter?
i hope im not looking into this too much :S
thx

I just looked at mine, the biggest difference I found was that on mine (and the stock photo), the top part of the ear piece with 'Shure' written on it is matte, while the lower half is glossy. Never seen that before.

Shure uses heavy lighting on their pics, so you should expect the color to be a bit different. They might've made a little bit of unannounced changes here and there but it all boils down to whether you think they sound great or not.

I would say they are fake as well due to the glossy finish. I had a pair of E4Cs before, and a friend of mine has the E4G now. The bottom part is not supposed to be glossy like that.
