It does have better bass and all you just said. I do think it is better for Rock then the Denon's and I own the D2000 as well and still like it but this Can, to me. is more suited to Rock as it has more forward mids and is a more aggressive sound, I just compared to D2000 and the D2000 sounded so soft compared to the Ultrasone HFI 780.
I am enjoying it as it's burning in.
Thanks. Anyone else have similar opinions? The biggest thing like I said, is bass impact that I'm missing on the D2000's. Oh and how's the comfort?
So right now my D2000's are not really satisfying my needs. What I'm looking for is MORE bass impact which I am finding very little in my D2000's, and I guess a more suitable sound for metal and modern rock (e.g. foo fighters). I'm wondering if this is what the HFI-780 will bring to the table? I'm reading that the mids are better and it is an airier sound, and also that the impact of the bass is more than the D2000's. Just want to check with everyone here. Thanks.
Is it actually possible to have more bass and airier sound at the same time?

Comfort is pretty good, not great. The headband clamps tightly and I start feeling slight pressure after about 20 minutes or so. I'm hoping usage will loosen it up a bit. Not bad by any means, but not as good as the Denons. They isolate MUCH better than the Denons though.
Not like I consider D2000 anything special, but still.
I believe I own your first pair, but with APS V2 cable. That's what makes them special. Besides, something was special enough for you to buy them more than once.

It has great bass impact. As for comfort, its to tight for damn sure, it's getting better but the clamping force in pretty strong on a new set. It's easing off the more you use it and I try to open it real wide but am worried I could break them so I didn't try to bend them.

I hope others comment for you.
I pulled the trigger. I'll probably sell one or the other when I try out the 780's.

I would like to hear your reaction once you get them. I still like my Denon's but I am not listening to them so much now. I might sell a horde of Can's in a month or two. I have a lot

I hope the 780's aren't too tight! I listen to a lot of rock, and I heard the Denon's were good for rock, but I really disagree.
