I can't belive a few inconsiderate people are spoiling this for the rest of the community, I have been following this thread from the start with great interest hoping it would go smoothly and a European program could come from it.
I don't understand how they can not ship on time, poorly package or not take a few pictures when they are getting the use of a set of headphones for free. I wonder if it was their property would they take better care of it ( probably not !!! ).
Looks like I will be waiting a long time yet to hear some top of the line Grado's. Especially with the exchange rate and my computer breaking.
Thanks again to the spoiler's, you know who you are.

Sorry to hear about this; the program seemed extremely smooth initially.

I will agree that it is a shame this act of charity is slipping downhill. Hopefully it will right itself and continue being positive so it can continue and potentially expand.
And its good the GS1000s arrived OK.

Absolutely, because initially I dealt with upstanding head-fiers who weren't lying to me with every pm!
That said, micaela has them now, they are in good hands. I think the programme can get back on track, but please people, if you agree to accept the phones into your home, accept what I demand as well. I need pictures to trace the condition. I need a tracking and signature so they won't be left on a door step and I need the insurance so that if they are lost we can recoup the cost and get another pair. There are risks with this programme. I understood that getting into it, but at the same time, with only shipping costs to the next person on the list I think too many are feeling a fair bit free and lax in their responsibilities. SR60's at 70 MSRP aren't gonna break the bank of most, so the cost of shipping to the next person may seem like not the greatest investment, for others it might be just enough to get a sampling of a sound signature and help with a decision for a higher end phone without outputting great sums of cash. The GS-1000's and soon the RS-1's and RS-2's are quite a bit more money out there in the wilderness and frankly, I don't want to end it because some ****** can't commit to the rules.
Again, for those reading, if you try to screw me, I'll have you so tied up in court you'll wish you never heard of me or agreed to receive the headphones into your home. I hate throwing that out there but it seems I have to because people are getting careless. I have simple rules and I'm offering something interesting in return. I get NOTHING out of this at all, in fact it costs me time and money. All I want, eventually, is to have a selection of phones traveling the globe with people enjoy a new sound for a time at a reduced rate and risk than otherwise would be endured if they had to buy something to try.

Sorry to hear!
I can't believe how ignorant people can be. Here they sign up for the program, agreeing on the six important rules. But when its their turn they totally fail on all points. Don't take pictures, don't handle with care, shipping unregistered, and like.
Hats off to Zanth for running this program. Its extremely generous of him, and he certainly earn to be respected.
Obey the rules or don't sign up!

I hope this program can eventually expand to Asia. Maybe we can sort out some ATs to send around from here, though personally I'd love to audition a Grado.
I suggest, when someone is signing up for the program, ask them what camera they are going to use to take pictures with. Also maybe stick a big red sign inside the top flaps of the box as a picture-taking reminder.

Great program! I don't qualify yet, but would love to hear everyone's impressions. Will that be posted here, or somewhere else? I haven't seen many reviews ...

You're kidding me! How sad is that!?
Participants: you are the chosen ones, the cream of the head-fi crop! You are listening to thousand dollar gear essentially for free! Many of us (i.e., me!) do not qualify for this; as the chosen ones, it is your obligation to give us your impressions!
Zanth, I humbly suggest that you add that an impression, no matter how small, must be posted in order to participate in this program.
I'm kidding. Sort of. But seriously, wouldn't that be in the spirit of what this program is all about? Giving back to this great forum which has given so much to us?

I've been thinkin bout gettin a pair of SR60s myself, so I think the shipping cost would be better spent towards the purchase instead of trying them out first. Good idea though.

I'm a member in high standing, but I'm not interested in Grado's.
Tho, I'd love to borrow a ATH AD2000 or a Beyer DT990.
It would have to be from someone in Canada, otherwise duties would be charged.
Anyone have an extra pair of either kicking around?
