Shure SE210? bang for buck/quality from Shure's IEM line?

A Relative of mines who isnt too much on audio took a leap of faith and bought a pair of IEM after seeing me with my crappy MDR-EX81'z...He bought Shure SE210 .... Im just wondering on the review on them? Ive heard of the E2C and E4C being really good within their catagories...and he just ADORES Shure because of their amps and microphones?

is he better off exchanging them for E2C or E4C or maybe budget IEMs like JVC Marshmallows?...He did buy it retail and wouldnt tell me price...so was it worth the $? or is the sound quality worth it

btw he listens to the following : Chinese Music from Oriental Classic/Pop/RnB, Trance/Techno at about 70/30 ratio

I'd get a Westone UM1 at that price range or a Mylarone x3..
But i'm basing this on if SE210 is at the same level as E2c

EDIT: He'd be better off with a HD25 according to his music tastes though

The SE210 is the successor of the E3, the E2 is one level below E3 and SE210.

Classic/Pop/RnB, Trance/Techno - 70/30

Well, Shure IEMs fit Classic/Pop very well, but the required bass for RnB, Trance and Techno is just missing. Overall he would need some kind of a bassier IEM with maybe dynamic drivers. After what I've heard, the Atrio M5 would be the right IEM for him, although I love my Shure E4 and q-Jays, but they wouldn't fit his taste of music - I only listen to Rock/Alternative/Vocal.

i think shure´s only product that does well on a price/quality comparison is the E500/SE530, which is slightly more expencive then the Triple.fi 10 pro, but at the same time slightly better sounding if you dont count the roll off highs, but the SE110 from what i hear, is muddy and fatiguing, clearly outclassed by the Super,fi 3 and the ER6i,

the SE210, 310 and 420 might lose out to price comparisons with the artio M5, the super,fi 5 EB/pro and the q-JAYS,

i was never sure about the shure midrange prices, but then again, i havent listened to most of shures midrange, so i cant say if the price is justified, the ER4S is a single armature $200 headphone, and 16 years on, its one of the most accurate headphones on the market and according to ALOT of folks around here, still well worth the price

ill look into the Atrio M5 and the Super Fi 5 Pro/EB variations and see what he thinks will suit his tastes...I bet he will after he gets the pair ... Ill still take suggestions for him
