You have such a ridiculously nice collection. I wish you would write a mini-massive review for us (or maybe just me at least)!!

Personally, I'm most likely going to end up with both. They both complement each other quite well and would most likely cover every genre there is known to man. After these two + Xin Supermicro, thassit.

AD700 is a warm phone?
or a bit bright?(recessed mid and bass)

No, AD700 isn't a warm 'phone. It is, however, warm er than MS-1 (in comparison).
It also isn't bright at all. The mid is slightly recessed and the bass is there but nothing 'bassy'. It has a smooth and quite analytical presentation, in my opinion.

A neutral sounding, comfortable, open can is JUST what I need for my collection.

I don't think the AD700 has been called thin or dull before, anywhere along the frequency range. I see nothing but good things from owners of this can... so it prolly sounds nothing but good...possibly even great. Perhaps the AD900 is "greater"??

The bass was said to be more emphasized with the 900's. Then again what do you expect with a $130 upgrade. If the Ad700's are these good the 900's must be loved by Jesus himself.

I take it you haven't heard a Darth Beyer yet??
Also, how does the DT990 compare to the D2000, AD700, & KSC75 (for reference sakes since it's so common)??
Thanks a bunch...

Thanks d-cee and everyone else for the information and comparisions. I currently own ES7s and SR-60s as my main phones. I also have a new pair of HD580s that I'm probably going to sell. Once I raise some money, I'm focused on getting AD700s or AD900s. Reading everything I've been able, these seem like the best addition to my collection.

I got my AD700s in today and I just love them.
Amazingly fast shipping from audiocubes, ordered these AFTER I ordered some speakers from creative and I got these before!.
Anyway, so far I agree with what the OP said, except I haven't heard the MS-1s ;p, though one day I will buy them, some portable amp and a dap.

I got my AD700 yesterday, a lot of sibilance from ad700 at first.
After 20 hours of brn in, the sibilance did less annoying but it is still there.....
now over 30 hours, I could hear much improvement yet....
how many hours of burn-in you all did with your AD700?
