The HD600 is still considered one of the best headphones out there in the industry, while the HD650 is still competitive with other audiophile-oriented headphones, and while it stays that way, I doubt Sennheiser will do anything.
Where they're lacking is in IEMs, and of course there's always room for more closed, DAP-friendly headphones to rival the Triports, especially since Sennheiser actually has the name recognition to stock their headphones in Best Buy and the like.
Sure, I would love a new flagship headphone, or an electrostatic headphone, or something with a new and unexpected driver technology, but let's get real. Sennheiser are a market-driven company, and the market doesn't need any of that.
Oh, and they lost a ton of money on every HE90 sold, so what's the point of making a statement product when you don't need to make any more statements about your quality and brand prestige?
P.S. I sure hope to be proven wrong. If I am, you can guess what I'm buying.

statment products are good matketing. Graphics card companies lose money on there highest end cards yet still produce them as they shift the lower end cards.

I couldn't find this info posted in another thread so I figured this was the best place to post it:
Engadget has an article from Sennheiser Worldwide talking about this:
Sennheiser Worldwide: Microphones, Headphones and Wireless Systems
The article talks about the new MX W1 wireless headphones Senn. is unveiling at CES '08. It also talks about how Sennheiser teamed up with a company called Kleer to work on the wireless transmission system.

If that's the only real new product, a real yawn for Sennheiser here.

Lets hope they have products up their sleeves.
A wireless portable system sure might be fun, but not quite what most of us expect. Hopefully they will release at least one new full size 'phone...

Still curious about either confirming or debunking these old rumours.

Calm down didn't you people read what Jude was writing:
Jude: So I get an e-mail and a call from Sennheiser, inviting me to attend a product launch they're holding on the night before CES officially starts.

I like it. Looks a lot better than what Ety is offering IMO. I think I will put this on my 2008 wish list along with FreQ.

Well, based on the press releases this sounds like a buzzkill. Oh well, I hope I'm wrong but after reading those and what Jude said, I don't think I am. Unless Jude is just trying to mess with us.

Off topic, but this generally isn't true. The highest end graphics cards tend to just be binned versions of a lower priced one.

Like I said before, I've been as in the dark as you guys, with the exception of a vague teaser. I'm learning and seeing pretty much only what you guys are learning and seeing, at this point.
On Sunday, I'll know for sure what's going on, and will then have a chance to listen to whatever Sennheiser is announcing at CES. Can't wait. Hopping on a plane in a few hours, and still haven't packed.
