SE210 first impression
A little about the SE210's. Well yesterday i was ready to return them They sounded kind of muffled, highs were ok, mids muffled and bass not so good/on the horrible side.... today after about 16 hours of burn in the sound is changing for the better, bass not as "muffled" more solid, mids are a little laid back but perfect IMO and the treble has refined a bit, they have a lot of clarity... What i love the most is how confy these suckers are, i wore them yesterday for about 3 hours with the black foamies and could not feel them ... Im not returning these for now Will post more impressions and make a decision on these within a couple of days after more burn in.

IEMs don't burn in, it is your ear getting used to the sound sig. Just keep listening!

I have to agree with mastercheif on this one, no burn in for IEMs.
If you thought the E4 lacked treble energy, you haven't heard anything yet.
I tried the SE210 two weeks ago, there are no highs! What is the purpose of these iems? Who will buy them? I have no idea what shure were thinking.
The SE310 puts the highs back and has a similar sig to the E4. I didn't have an E4 to compare it to so I can't say which is better. Rather expensive though...

From what i read the SE210 and the 310 are the same, the only dif is the 310 has the "tuned bass port" for enhancing the lows, the highs are exactly the same i dont know where or how u heard the big dif on highs, read up... the highs on the 210 are great.

If you're not "anti-eq", some EQ to bring the highs back to the SE210 makes 'em sound very-very good IMHO (iAudio X5L with RockBox's parametric EQ). They take to EQ very well from what I can tell...
I've heard that IEMs aren't supposed to have a burn in, but I find myself turning down the highs over time with these. For some reason, the highs do seem to be improving with age and even though I know that my "just getting used to them" should account for that, the difference seems too large to dismiss.

this is simply not true. it isn't that 310 uses 210 drivers with holes (or more technically-sounding, "ports") drilled on it. nah. they'r completely different drivers, with 210 developed from the e3c drivers and 310 developed from the e4c drivers.
without any technical aspects in mind, the truth is, the 210 has absolutely NO highs while 310's highs is pretty decent. however, IMO, both are hopelessly overpriced.........yea they'r comfy, much more so than the old e series, but i dun pay that much on an audio product for its comfortness.....
