Hi. I'm looking for my first pair of actual headphones. I own sennheiser cx-300 earphones right now and I like them pretty well, but I find them uncomfortable for extended periods of time sitting at my computer plus they're so sensitive that even on the lowest volume I get a very loud ringing sound out of my laptop from them.

Therefore, although I spend most of my music time at home, I listen to it through my laptop speakers, which gives me obviously terrible quality, so I figure I should get some headphones. What would be good under-100$ headphones to get for mostly rock music? Are open cans generally better than closed ones (I see a lot of open can recommendations here)?

I figure I could use my cx-300s for portable use, with headphones at home.

Would the SR 60s work better because I don't plan on using an amp for a while, and I heard that they were easier to drive un-amped?

I need to find something to replace my Alessandro MS-1's. It must sound good unamped, be less colored, and cost less than $200. I want it to sound just as the recording studio intended it to sound.

What has all this to do with " Recommendations for Best headphones on the market (new and old)" ?
Just use the search function. There are already gazillions of threads regarding relatively cheap headphones "unamped".

Hi, I've got a HR's Total Bithead amp and now I need some headphones, I heard the HD650 is requiring too power for the amp but I want something that is as good as the HD650 but that will perfectly fit with my amp, thanks.

Hello, Im looking for some help. My Shure E2Cs cable recently snapped and Im looking for a new pair of headphones just to use for my Ipod and computer, but not for very crazy price (under 200). If u guys could recommend me a earbud type and "earmuff" type that would help since Im not sure which I'll be buying yet. thanks

2Erly. Welcome to Head-Fi.
Please don't hijack this thread. Which is a thread for the "Best headphones on the market", and not just a general headphone one... I suggest you start by searching the forum, cause you are the 1000+ person to ask this kind of question.
