Default Question on pads

I just bought a pair of SR 125 used and was wondering what pads I should buy for them. Also I do not know what pads came with it and was wondering if people could post a picture of what a flat pad, comfy pad, and bowl pad looked liked and which pad would you recommend.

Pads are a real fun subject! I am currently using reversed 414s on my MS-1 but bowls on my MS2i!

.....current SR-125 come standard with bowls.

For "my" ear size in "my" system, the 414s are more comfortable on my MS-1s than the bowls are, but the bowls sound better if I use an amp, which I never do with the MS-1s so I may as well be comfortable! On the MS2i, which "DO" sound a lot better amped and with the bowls to "my" ears, I end up leaving the bowls on even though the reversed 414s are just a tiny bit more comfortable, but the increase in sound quality makes up for the diference in comfort!

Whew!

I find that with "my" ears the "comfies" and standard 414s slide around a lot, while the reversed 414s allow my smaller ears to kinda snuggle right on inside and be ultra stable.

Now if my ears were bigger, or if were listening to SR-80s or RS-2 or SR-325i......or SR-125..... I may have a completely different story to tell!

If you take a look at a number of the current Grado Pads threads, I believe there are some pictured. They're those goofy yellow pads! Sometimes they're shown with or without a modded hole exposing the drivers in the center. Sometimes they're normal sometimes they're reversed.

They can be bought from any Sennheiser dealer or distributor on-line for around $4 a pair. Just call them Sennheiser #019545 HD 414 earpads, and you can't go wrong!

...ok; I LIKE them in yellow!
