I mean all this rave reviews are because it's good sounding earbud or it's really kick ass sounding little things?
Two years ago I was told by YUIN that "pk" means kick everybody's ass. At that time they were kicking all china earphones' ass.
"PK" actually come from the famous Chinese Super Voice Girls Show, an American Idol-like singing contest. YUIN use "PK" as their earbud name because they believe that PK1 will never lose when people using PK1s doing A/B test against any earphones.
PK: Player kill, the term used by China's online game players to mean games where you kill the other players. PK has been used on Super Voice Girls to refer to the knockout part of the show: after a round of singing, the competitor who gets the fewest SMS votes and another one who judges decide has made too many mistakes are sent to the PK Stage; one is eliminated in a one-to-one competition.
I had a set of PK1's on trial before they were released and I think they really sounded good (and super good for earbuds). Just a shame that I hate any earbud fit wise.

I asked the same question a few weeks back (PK1 - good overall? Or just good for earbuds?). I ended up buying a pair and have really liked them. Comfortable and very pleasing sound.
I hope to really get my money's worth when my Pico arrives.

Definitively good for the earbuds I have sampled over my headfi journey. My fullsize headphone level only stretches as far as the HD590's but the PK1's are definitely on a par and on some tracks go further in terms of transparency and detail..

It's a couple of notches below my 'high-end' phone, ATH-AD900, and I would place it somewhere near a Beyer pad-modded MDR-V6 and certainly better in terms of details, punchy-ness of bass above the perennial favourite of Head-Fi KSC75. Also, headphone fatigue never sets in with its warm sound, and no motion sickness feeling with excessive bass.
Most importantly, it justifies its price with its size and comfort. My listening experience was made better just by the fact that they simply vanish, making them the only cans I can wear for hours on end.
