Congrats! I think you will enjoy them a lot. They are definitely the most "fun" headphones I have owned.

I don't think you will need to worry about soundstage if you listen to rock

For my spoof on soundstage.. just take a look at my sig..

That was just a spoof..

A definition I found on the net says a soundstage is

"A listening term that refers to the placement of a stereo image in a fashion that replicates the original performance. A realistic soundstage has proportional width, depth and height."

as per john_jcb

" I think that the soundstage generally spoken of by reviewers means the three dimensional space that represents the original placement of instruments or singers. The goal is for your system to accurately represent the original space. Positioning is the accurate placement of the artists within the soundstage.

Soundstage presentation is the ability of a system to accurately convey the overall size, shape, height, width, acoustical characteristics, and depth of the instruments as they were recorded within the space in which they were recorded. The soundstage defines the boundaries of the image you form in your mind as you listen."

Then imaging is how these instruments are placed accurately in the soundstage.

Congratulations, CyberGhost! It's amazing what you hear with SR225's, even unamped, from modest sources. Your ears will love you for this. What are you stepping up from?

going grado is the right direction for a newcomer to headphones, and the sr225 is by all accounts the 'sweet spot' of their current line in terms of sound and value. you did the right thing: enjoy.
