Default My ears hurt help me.

Ok a couple of months ago I bought some Gardos SR225. Like everybody says there not the most comfortable thing in the world and there right, they hurt.
Now Im also looking to upgrade a bit as well. What are your recommendations for some cans a step up or so?

You can get headphile pads because you probably don't want to buy a separate amp to drive the better headphones in the same class as the Grado's.

Give the pads a good scrubbing with shampoo several times, ring them like a sponge and blow dry them.

Yes. It really softens up the pads. Especially bowls.

Wash your bowls. 003's method will work, but I wash mine in the sink with hand soap. Wash them 3-4 times, or until water runs clear through them. You'll see a black residue filter out. Then I squeeze them out and let them dry overnight. They will be a lot softer and much more comfortable.

Maybe my ears are small or something cause its not the pads that hurt, its just that part of my ears are resting on the inside.

It's because they're bowls.
They leave a part of your ear to touch the actual headphones.

Either get the comfies or the HD414 pads. I can't use bowls either, except with the RS-1.

might want to give headphile C-pads a shot, if you already like the sound of the SR225
