Default MDR sa5000 pads

Hey folks,

I tried looking for a fresh pair of SA5000 pads on the web and I sent a few emails to sony, but I haven't gotten anywhere. I was hoping someone who owns a pair knows where I can get a hold of some fresh pads otherwise I'd have to make them myself.

Thanks,
Paul

What's wrong with the pads? I always put then on the headphone stand after use.

Hey Mike,

Theres some superficial tearing on the part of the pads thats not made out of leather, you know the part that gets tucked under the headphone. Its minor, but I figure I wouldnt mind getting an extra pair of pads for down the line especially since they're pushing 3 years old.

My apologies for not making that out.

Hi Paul,

I was going to say that there should have been a pair at Audiocubes2. But I am mistaken. Plus, there isn't much feedback about replacement parts from Audiocubes. I would recommend sending an email directly to Sony or ask Craig at Kuboten. I'm not too sure what their prices are, but that should be your best bet.

How did you go with the pads? I've got a pair of SA5000s fairly mint except for one busted driver if you're interested.....

You could always try putting some beyer pads on them, post the dimensions of your current pads , they might be clsoe to the dimesnsions of the dt770/880. And we all knows that the velour beyer pad deserve the love they are getting.

Maybe even posting picks of the pads themselves would be good too (some companies use very basic ways to get the pad to stay on the cups, others get a bit too excited).
