These were recommended to me in another thread by "facelvega", and I'm trying to find more info on them. I did find a brief review by facelvega, but that's it. I still don't know if they are open or closed, how many ohms? And they're not on the MB Quart website. I'm mainly concerned about the inside cup diameter and depth, if they'll be large enough. I'm trying to find a can that will not touch my ears on inside of cups. Also, how is the overall comfort, tightness, sound? Thanks for any help.
here is a review I did comparing them to a bunch of vintage heavyweights. It's second to last in that review, but still ahead of the K260/SBC-3178 and by implication also ahead of the SR-60 and K240M by the same token. As you'll note, the QP55x is the nearly-identical predecessor model to the current QP240.
As for width and depth inside the cushion, they are very much comparable to the big Beyers, to the point that MB and Beyer earpads can be swapped. This makes depth hard to estimate, as I don't know if that ebay stock has the thicker velour pads or the thinner fabric ones, but assuming the velours, then among comparable headphones, only an AKG Kx00/x01 would offer a deeper fit.

Thanks facelvega, I read that review. My biggest concern is the inside cup diameter. If they're at least as big as the AKG K301 XTRA, I'll be happy. I returned those because I thought I could do better.
AKG K*0* pads look bigger than Beyer pads, but when you get out the calipers and measure, they're pretty close in diameter.
I don't think you'll have a problem with these.

AudioCubes2 declined to cancel my order, then lied to me and told me it had already shipped a full business day before the date on the shipping label.
I got a hold of one of the sales guys yesterday at Electronicsbonanza.com(where these are being sold) and he measured the cup for me. The inside diameter is only 2 & 1/4 inches. They won't work for me, but maybe someone else can use this info.
Resurrecting an old thread because I now have some QP55x cans.
I could swear, aside from the foam inside them being white instead of yellow, and the width of the vinyl flange that secures them to the earcup, these pads are EXACTLY the pads i took off my 1990's era DT-990, re-foamed, and stuck on my 80's-era DT-880. Same fabric. Same perforated vinyl backing. Same size. Same shape.
These sound extremely good for the price. I have no other comments at this time.

I've never been within a mile of any Grado that i know of, sorry.
I doubt I'll ever own any grados. I don't typically like supra-aural cans at all, and from what i've heard, their comfort level is on the low end of on-ear comfort. I also hear that they are typically quite bright sounding, where i prefer a more warm sound.
If i ran into a $20 pair of SR-60's I'd pick 'em up out of curiosity, but i don't forsee shopping for 'em.
