MarkL Mod made EASY! D2000 (possibly for D5000) template!
I have just created this template for D2000s, it should work for the D5000 as well with a few modifications to the ear cup piece. Gray shades are to be cut out. I used this exact template for my friends new D2000. The holes align very accurately but you must tape the template down and not let it move around when punching the holes. Hope this makes the MarkL mod easier!
UPDATE:The revised version includes two methods of doing the outer rim of the driver; the strip or the circle method, you can cut out both shapes and see which you prefer to do. I have not done the strip method (but that is what the MarkL thread shows), that seems to be easier to work with. MarkL suggested not to cover the gray disk and leave the gray disk as "naked". The hole in the inner driver is now enlarged 20%. I have also added additional cut markings on the ear cup screw posts areas because they need to be larger. A 1" gray square was added so that you can measure to verify scaling of the template.
UPDATE: PDF now prints at 100% (no scaling) on a 8.5"x11" print format. Outer driver is now in the strip method only. Gray disk Dynamat template is removed since this dampens the headphones too much.
Here is the MarkL mod D2000 template (Updated 8/13/08):
PDF format: Here
Just print it on a 8.5x11 sheet with no scaling and use them on a Dynamat sheet.
Cut out each piece with spacing around the edge and place them all on the Dynamat, these should arrange in such a way that it fits on to a 10"x10" Dynamat (Speaker Kit size)
Amazon.com has 2 sheets of 10"x10" Dynamat Extreme for under $11 (free shipping with Prime).
Enjoy!!

Please ignore my ignorance but what is so special about Dynamat sheet?
Dynamat sheets are usually used on car stereo to dampening sound vibration from subwoofers and speakers and to direct the sound from the speakers into the car and not all over the place.
By adding the Dynamat to the Denons, it helps control the bass, brings out a bit of the mids, and highs for a very balanced headphone You can read more about the benefits of this mod in MarkL's thread.

Wait a second, why are you covering the two front drivers with a circle of dynamat? Your suppose to use a hole puncher and cover the area around the front drivers, but that area is not grayed out. Maybe I am seeing things differently here.

coolchu001,
Nice work. But when I print it out to take a look, everything ends up about 15% too large? Do you know what the issue might be?
Couple things I might suggest. I recommend not covering the gray disc area of the D2000 driver, just leave it "naked". Also, the circle you have labelled "outer driver", I think and easier way than cutting out a circle, is just to cut out a thin straight strip about 3/8" thick or so, then wrap this strip around the outer edge of the larger driver butt. I think that's easier than working with a circle.

Try printing it out with Windows Photo Gallery. Worked better for me than IE. When I cut everything out, the grey "Front of Driver" piece fits exactly in the driver hole behind the earpad, so I guess it works.
Oh, and thanks! This is going to be a godsend when I do it.
P.S.
I'm measuring the holes to be 1/4" in diameter. Is this correct? I still need to order the correct size hole punch =\

coolchu001,
Another thing I spotted is that the center hole on the Inner Driver template is a little small. When you compact the dynamt to attach it firmly in place, the rubber tends to ooze out around the edges a bit and can cover up that hole. I'd suggest making it a little bigger.
